Dream

We’ve all got dreams. We all want something or be someone. We dream. And most often not all those dreams come true. And sometimes some of them might even fade away over time. We change our dreams, find new ones, better ones, and chase them. The journey might not be the most pleasurable but the end will be. But how many of us are ready to go that far? Sadly, a large portion of us get frustrated and give up... or worse, we end up telling ourselves “I should have known I wasn’t good enough for it. This is real life and miracles don’t often happen here.”

It disappoints me when I see people change and by change, I mean – giving up on their dreams. And it's not too hard to find one such person either. I for instance was one such person and I am NOT proud of it. I grew up with dreams about who I want to be, where I want to be, how I want to be just like any other person. And in my journey of becoming that person I dreamt to be, I slowly started believing in the chances of not ending up being that person I wanted to be. And that is where you're wrong - when you believe that you aren’t enough. And what happens then? You start “accepting the reality”, the “reality” that you’ll just be another salesman/saleswoman at just another shop and watch each day go by wishing if things were different.

Our mind is very powerful (I know you might have heard that a million times already but it is true). When you train your mind to believe in yourself, things change. The whole picture starts to look more beautiful and not so challenging anymore. And I won’t say it's easy that you believe in yourself and everything you wanted to happen will happen in the blink of an eye. No, it doesn’t work that way. You need to pack a lot of ingredients for this journey.

Well, firstly you’ll need - faith in yourself: believing that you can do it.

Second - practice/hard work: remember, you get what you work for.

Third – Patience: beautiful destinations are the farthest. Wait happily for your work to bear fruits.

Last but obviously not the least – accept failures: understand that failures only help you grow, showing you your weak points so that you can work on them. Failures are indeed the stepping stones to success.

There are so many more ingredients to this recipe, but let's start with these basic ones for now. Even if you believe that life is already planned out and there is nothing you could do about it, there is no harm in trying to make things the way you want it, right? So, if you are someone who had quit on your dreams, on is on the verge of doing so, please don’t. But try again and again and again because one day you’ll make it. I mean, Michael Jordan didn’t become a legend overnight, he worked for it.

By now you might be wondering who am I to write on believing in oneself and chasing one's dreams?! It's simple – just one among you trying to do the same. (Wink!)

~What's meant to be yours will find you if you are ready to welcome it.
